The Story Behind KWIGIRA 3600 FOUNDATION

KWIGIRA 3600 FOUNDATION was born from the vision to empower Rwandan families and communities through self-reliance, sustainable development, and inclusive growth, combining practical agricultural support, financial empowerment, youth and women engagement, environmental stewardship, and social cohesion, while leveraging partnerships with local authorities, universities, and development organizations to create scalable, community-driven solutions that improve livelihoods, nutrition, resilience, and overall well-being across the country.

Family Empowerment​​

We empower families by strengthening livelihoods through savings, credit, and investments; promoting gender equality and youth entrepreneurship; increasing agricultural and livestock productivity; fighting malnutrition through improved nutrition practices; advancing environmental protection and climate resilience; and fostering peace, unity, and social cohesion in households and communities to ensure sustainable, inclusive, and self-reliant development.

Agriculture & Animal Resources​​

We support Agriculture and Animal Resources by training farmers in sustainable and climate-smart farming, improving access to quality inputs and livestock, strengthening cooperatives, establishing demo plots and model farms, promoting high-nutrition crops, enhancing animal husbandry skills, and mobilizing communities to boost productivity, increase household income, and build resilient, market-oriented agricultural systems aligned with national development priorities.

Environmental Conservation​​

We promote Environmental Conservation by supporting reforestation and tree nursery development, advancing sustainable land management and soil protection, raising community awareness on climate change, encouraging clean and responsible waste management, and promoting renewable energy solutions—all aimed at restoring ecosystems, protecting natural resources, and building climate-resilient communities that safeguard the environment for long-term sustainable development.

Community-Centric Approach

We apply a community-centric approach by organizing families into functional groups, training local leaders, strengthening community savings and development structures, fostering inclusive participation of women and youth, promoting dialogue and peaceful coexistence, and working closely with local authorities and partners to ensure that all interventions are community-driven, locally led, and fully aligned with the real needs and priorities of households.
